Good Morning Hawks fans... The central swing is half over and the Hawks have played the good, the ugly and better. The roadie started with a good effort in Edmonton. The Hawks beat the Oil Kings for the first time and got off to a good 5-2 win. It was nice to see Kurtis Mucha as a 20 get a win in his home town, and to show the Oilers that he can play in that building.
The next game in Red Deer was nothing like the game in Edmonton. Ian Curtis did not have a good game and the Hawks were flat out not the better team on the ice. We all know that games like this are going to happen and that the Hawks were not going to go 6-0 on the swing and not finish the season 68-4... The real question in how do they react and and do the play the next game out. Calgary is a tough team and really is favored to win the WHL this season.
The Hawks came out quick against the Hitmen and rebounded well jumping out to a quick lead. It was not a win, but a good effort coming back from the debacle in Red Deer. In previous years a game like Red Deer would have been taken as the norm and instead this year it looks like the Hawks are not going to take it. The Hawks have games in Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Kootney before coming home to play Brandon. The team can still go 4-2 on this trip, but the room for error and the ugly isn't there.
Remember that the First Stark Street Pizza show will be Monday October 26, Francis, Ponich, Schneider and Walker will be in attendance.
