And then it was over... The come back kids finish with a loss to the Vancouver Giants, dropping out of the playoffs in round two. At first glance, last nights game was a good one. Portland simply was not the better team last night.
While there are tons of things you can say about last nights game, and even more you can about the season, I am going to simply say good bye to some of the guys.
To Chris Francis and Stefan Schneider, you both were part of the bad and now the good. While Stefan has his next steps defined for him, Chris will get his chance somewhere to keep playing. These two guys both had quality seasons, helping get this team back into contention. Thanks Guys...
To Eric Doyle, you were brought into Portland to bring your 5 years of experience to teach these young guys about playing in the WHL. Thanks, you too helped get these guys going to the next level.
To the 19s... while some of you may be back battling for an overage spot next season some of you may go in other directions... So, to Luke Walker, Taylor Jordan, Ian Curtis, Spencer Bennet, and Luca Sbisa, thanks for all you brought this season, best of luck if you all are not back next year.
And to the rest of the team... use this as a spring board to getting back next year.
